Moving in November – Radio Salon 1: The Curators

“There is no supermarket for international dance art, where art works would be already categorized and you could go to the feminism section and then you could go to the critique of colonialism -section.”

In November 2018 Esitysradio realized the Radio Salon series, a three-part collaboration with the dance festival Moving in November, Goethe-Institut Finnland, Nuoren Voiman Liitto and The Finnish Critics’ Association. In the first Salon Janina Rajakangas and Tuomas Laitinen discuss with Mikael Aaltonen and Ari Tenhula, the artistic directors of the festival.

The following two parts of the Radio Salon series took place during the festival as small-scale public events hosted by Nuoren Voiman liitto. In the second salon Tuomas and Janina discussed with critics Mia Hannula, Eeva Kauppinen and Maria Säkö. In the third salon the guests are choreographers Eisa Jocson, Benoît Lachambre and Elina Pirinen.

Anna Maria Häkkinen: Dance

“Could the impact come from dance itself?”

Dance by choreographer Anna Maria Häkkinen is being performed in October 2018 at Stoa, Helsinki, as a part of the program of Zodiak Center for New Dance.
